Welcome to the Academy of Kung Fu "Kung Fu Kids" program.
We have developed this special program to provide your child with the following benefits
The emphasis of our program is on establishing self-discipline and courtesy in children. The structure of respect is built into our Kung Fu instruction.
The program provides confidence and character building by assisting the children to accomplish their goals. Our Academy also teaches the child to have self-control over his or her body and develop the ability to stand up to peer pressure and other intimidating situations.
The movements of Kung Fu develop coordination and increases strength, and flexibility, which is very important during the growing years.
The awarding of the higher belts give the children the sense of achievement and accomplishment. We keep this very much in mind. The length of time for achieving belts can be from two to four months for beginners. Training for these tests enhances the child's ability to concentrate as well as plan for and triumph over hurdles. This is an excellent reinforcement of study techniques at school.
Academy of Kung Fu's instruction also involves free-style competition. (Sport Karate) This helps develop a sense of fair play and sportsmanship in a controlled competitive situation.
The foundation of our program is its self-defense value. We are very careful to teach children to use common sense before self-defense and never be abusive or offensive. The result of our program is a self-confident child who doesn't need to bully or show off to other children.
All Martial Arts Schools are not the same. Our program has been developed over the years with the help of a child psychologist to serve the needs of children. It's a fun and exciting program that kids will excel at and one that will positively improve academic achievement, social responsibility and physical performance.
"My children have participated in numerous sports, and Kung Fu is the first we have found where they truly get out of it as much as they put into it. They can participate in parent night -drop offs, leadership, learn weapons in masters classes, join team AOK, compete in tournaments, attend a summer Kung Fu campout, in addition to regularly scheduled Kung Fu classes if they choose.
The students treat one another with courtesy and respect -there is not a clicque atmosphere at the Academy. My children have had sleepovers and birthday parties with friends they have made at Kung Fu. The trophies they've earned at tournaments have gone with them for show & tell, and they proudly display their belts on their bedroom walls." Becky Jarrod
